Who among you learned Book Binding?
I know that several of you have spoken in the past about having taken book-binding classes. Who all were you, that learned this skill?
I stopped off at a used book store today. This was my little treat to myself after escaping Purgatory (known to most humans as "The Maryland MVA" , where I stood in line for an hour to be told that they don't do that at that branch - but I can do it in 30 seconds in the little computer kiosk I walked by to get in line. And well... if they don't perform service W at that location... then why in the name of all that is logical to they have the form available when you walk in?!)
At the book store, I picked up a handful of really old books. I just finished building the beautiful huge bookshelves, and so I felt that I should get some lovely volumes with which to adorn them. And among the books I got was a leather-bound bible from 1815. No, that's not a typo. I actually picked up a holy book that is one hundred and nintey-three years old. But to say that it is leather-bound is a little too much credit. Both the front and back covers have become detached over time, and maybe half of the leather on the spine is still there - the rest is just the paper beneath.
I am interested in having the book restored by someone who knows what they are doing, and would like to know who among you might be up to the task. I'll take photos, so that when I hear from you I can show you what it looks like.
